It's been a busy few weeks since we last posted. Gabrielle just turned 7 months and continues to amaze and delight us each day. Let's see... the biggest news is Gabby's first teeth came! Her front 2 lower teeth have arrived. She's also been "belly crawling" and finding ways to propel herself forward to snatch up her favorite toys. Which these days come in the form of things she can shake (or bang) a noise out of. I'm completely behind in posting new pictures & videos but am hoping to catch up with some new goodies for you this week.
Gabrielle's teeth are too little to capture on camera, so stay tuned for upcoming pics of her pearly whites. Until then, here's a funny clip from a few weeks ago when she was learning to chew.
A few days ago she decided to tear up her playmat and turned it into her own version of a hula-hoop. Guess she wanted to challenge her rolling over skills! Take a look.

My oh my. This is by far Gabby's most enthusiastic, non-stop marathon of laughter to date. Well done, Daddy! She must've laughed for at least 5 minutes non-stop - here's a glimpse:

With 6 days of eating "real food" under her belt, Gabby has tasted rice cereal and apples. I've decided to try to make most, if not all, of Gabby's food. Yes, it's true... it's taken becoming a mom for me to get my hands dirty in the kitchen (at least more regularly). I decided apples should be first up on the menu. As simple as it sounds "peel/chop apples - heat until soft - puree," I kept worrying that I'd mess up. Ok, I admit it, I kind of did mess up the first time by forgetting that I was heating apples in the first place (note to self: apples will burn if left unattended). What can I say, I got distracted playing with Gabby... Here's a peek at her first taste of apples. Happy laughing!

Happy 6 months Gabrielle! We celebrated with a first taste of "real" food - rice cereal. Welcome to the world of "solids." She ate like a true Chang & Song. If she's anything like us and the rest of our family she'll soon be enjoying anything that lands on her plate.
We're finally bringing video to this blog...here's a quick peek at Gabby's first meal:
Here's a few pics we took yesterday. To see the rest, check out the new "Sep 4, 2009" photo album on the leftside of the blog, or you can just click here to see the rest of this photo album.

Thankfully, grumpy Gabby has left the building (for now). We have our favorite smiley baby back (no teeth yet):
We took our first roadtrip to Vermont (~4 hour drive) for a long weekend. Gabby set foot on grass for the first time. She wasn't a fan. She was pretty apprehensive of the sea of green.
Gabby was a great sleeper on vacation! She loves goofing around with daddy... or maybe, it's the other way around.
One of her new tricks is to bite her lower lip:
She has a few new toys. There's the "exersaucer" which is stimulus overload but in small doses seems to be teaching Gabby a few things. And then there's a fun new giraffe toy (thanks Gomo!)
She's been chewing on her fingers (a sign of teething)
She's starting to sit up pretty well
Some days I think Gabrielle is such a "big girl." She's so curious and is learning new things every day. And then I step back and smile when I see how small she is. She's still our little baby.

We also had a chance to meet little Stella who is just a mere 12 days older than Gabrielle. They're both smiley babies yet we couldn't seem to capture it on film!

We've taken several strolls along the new Highline Park on the westiside of Manhattan. This time we paused in front of the public art piece called “The River That Flows Both Ways" (the glass panes in the background are inspired by the colors seen in the Hudson River.)
We recently upgraded Gabby out of her bassinet into the "big kid" stroller seat. She's been enjoying the new upright view so far.
All dressed up and nowhere to go...
